Grand Theft Auto V Details Are Taking Over The Internet

Grand Theft Auto V Details Are Taking Over The Internet

It’s been over four years since Grand Theft Auto fans have gotten their fix. And just like any good drug dealer, Rockstar Games has been stringing us along one detail at a time. Ever since the game was announced in October, we’ve had cold sweats as we wait for Rockstar to deliver the goods.

Well, the folks over at Game Informer have finally come through, and the entire Internet has taken notice. GI was able to sit down with Rockstar and put together a 23-page spread that reveals many of the precious details we’ve been waiting for. Here are a few of the highlights:

  • GTA 5 will have three playable protagonists: Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. Players will be able to switch between them at (nearly) any time during gameplay. Each character will have his own plotline, and they will often be required to work together.
  • Michael, Trevor, and Franklin will all have their own unique skills and social group.
  • Rockstar brags that the world in GTA V is bigger than Red Dead Redemption, GTA: San Andreas, and GTA IV combined.
  • There will be more vehicles than any previous GTA title. This includes dirt bikes, BMX bikes, planes ATVs, and the occasional jet ski.
  • Character customization has apparently been tossed. This is because every character has his own unique traits.
  • Thankfully, there will be no romance in GTA V. However, friendships have been carried over. So, my idiotic friends are still going to be mad at me when I don’t answer their phone calls during a gunfight with the national guard.

  • Several characters from previous titles will have cameos. Dear Lord, please keep Ray Liotta out of GTA V.
  • A multiplayer reveal is on its way.
  • A PC edition has not been announced just yet.
  • You’ll be able to scuba dive in GTA V. Finally. Just what the players have been asking for.
  • Rockstar is planning to release another trailer next week, which may contain additional details, or it might just be another way to sting us along. Either way, I’ll be ready with a fist full of sweaty money the second that Grand Theft Auto V hits shelves.
