Telltale’s Game of Thrones Will Be Epic

Telltale’s Game of Thrones Will Be Epic

Telltale has been teasing its new Game of Thrones game series for a while now, and yet we still haven’t really seen anything from it. We haven’t seen gameplay or screencaps or really heard anything about the story, and before you know it the game is going to come out. So what is the game going to be about?

Well today, Telltale has tweeted another teaser for the game in the form of an image. The Image was just a picture of a tree with a sword in it and a quote from the original Game of Thrones novel. The quote read as such:

“… A wood of stubborn sentinel trees armored in grey-green needles, of mighty Oaks, of IRONWOODS, as old as the realm itself.”

This isn’t the first teaser that Telltale has given us. The previous one came shortly after PAX and read as such

“…Trackers and hunters sworn to Deepwood with clan names like Forrester and woods, branch and bole.”

That quote came from A Dance With Dragons .

We are sensing a bit of a forest theme here Telltale? Perhaps that has something to do with what we will see in the game?

Telltale’s Game of Thrones Will Be Epic

We have received a trailer for the game, however there hasn’t been much revealed in the trailer. All we saw was a zoom over snowy plains and mountains as well as a shot of a raven and the iron throne. So once again, not much information.

BUT! That doesn’t stop us rampant speculators does it!?

First of all it’s worth it to note that HBO is stamped on every trailer, promotional image, and teaser. This means that the game is going to be more based on the TV show than the book (as opposed to The Walking Dead which was more based on the graphic novel than the TV show.) That being said, Ty Corey Franck, George R. R. Martin’s personal assistant, will be on board as a “story consultant.” We know that the game will be episodic, much like The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead was. We also know that the game is most certainly NOT a prequel to the events of the TV show, but it’s also likely not a game that takes place after the show, as the book series is not yet finished and this would be forcing George R.R. Martin into a corner.

This leaves only one option. The game will be a side-story, much like The Walking Dead was. This means that we might see characters cross over between the two stories, but it is likely that one will be very unrelated to the other.

What do you think? What will Telltale’s A Game of Thrones game about? Have you noticed any other info in the teasers that we haven’t? Let us know in the comments.
