Bloodborne Will Be Amazing

Bloodborne Will Be Amazing

Considering that From Software has been around for just shy of thirty years, they of course have a wide and diverse catalog of titles under their belts. However, it can be argued that they’ve become mostly well-known for the Souls games over the past several years.

Many people think that the series began with Demon’s Souls , but really if you go further back in their catalog, you’ll see that the foundations of the series can be found in the King’s Field series. The truth is that From Software has been making and refining the exact same game for the better part of two decades. And now, with the Alpha of Bloodborne upon us, they’re revealing their latest iteration of the formula.

While King’s Field and the Souls titles have been steeped heavily in the fantasy genre, Bloodborne is taking more of a gothic Victorian approach to its world building. Not only that, but combat seems to be getting a major overhaul as well. It looks like combat is going to be fast and immediate; you’re going to have to do some serious slit-second decision making in the heat of battle.

Bloodborne Will Be Amazing

This is a good thing, because combat in the Souls games has been a sticking point for several fans for some time now. Depending on the class of character you went with, combat could either be offensively simplistic or unforgivingly difficult. Bloodborne seems to be working towards a balanced middle ground, and I can’t help but feel that will push this ever-evolving game formula even closer to the idealized version of what they’ve been striving to create for all these years.

Fingers crossed. Enjoy the alpha.
