Communication Is Important in Dragon Age: Inquisition

Communication Is Important in Dragon Age: Inquisition

I need a favor from all of you. It’s important. Namely, the people who have a PS4, but I suppose what I have to say is vital for all of you with Dragon Age: Inquisition . Here it is.

If you’re going to play the Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer, then use your damn mics!

Sorry about the language there. As you can see, this is something I’m passionate about. I didn’t expect to be. Video gaming is either a single player or couch coop experience for me. I figured I’d try the Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer once, then never touch it again. Instead, I found it beyond inviting.

The Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer felt exactly like exploring in the single player game. The only difference was, I didn’t have to worry about occasionally babysitting my team. They could get along fine without me.

Of course, could is the operative word thing. The downside is, most of the matches with random online players had no communication. No one else would have their microphones on. I’ve played enough to know where to go in most maps and if special rooms or loot is nearby, but the gaggle of heroes I’m teamed up with are running around like chickens at feeding time. Instead of having an intelligent team to run around with, it was as though each was an AI dunce.

I know people have reasons for not using mics. They may not know where one is. It could be inconvenient. Perhaps other people are around at their home, and it would be distracting. Maybe someone is worried about using one due to their gender or age. However, I implore anyone with Dragon Age: Inquisition to dig their mic out before they jump into a multiplayer session.

Keep in mind, I’m saying that as a woman. You know, we’re the gender that can sometimes get all kinds of colorful comments when we play. With that, let me say I have yet to be verbally assaulted by anyone while playing Dragon Age: Inquisition . Everyone I’ve spoken to while playing this game has been helpful and willing to work together for the greater goal. People have been focused on building a strategy.

The Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer can be great, but only if we all come into it prepared. It doesn’t matter if you’re starting and have a low level character. People will understand. What does matter is if you’re willing to go ahead and do what’s necessary to properly work together with your team to succeed.
