Battlefield Hardline Beta on the Horizon

Battlefield Hardline Beta on the Horizon

CheatCC was recently given the heads up with news regarding one of the most anticipated shooters of 2015. Since its debut at last year’s E3, Battlefield Hardline and it’s all new direction has generated a healthy amount of buzz. Looking to venture outside its comfort zone and attempt something fresh and innovative, Hardline promises to engage both long-time series fans and newcomers alike! In short, this will definitely be one FPS in the New Year which will demand our undivided attention!

But ahead of its release, we’ll first get the chance to take this baby for an introductory spin! The folks over at EA and Visceral Games recently contacted us hyping the upcoming beta, which we simply can’t wait to dive into head first! While there’s still no firm street date set for the preview, here’s what you can expect via their official blog posting today: “Bust out those new gadgets, form new strategies and showcase your skills on two different maps and modes. First, take a test drive of Hotwire, an all-new mode coming to Battlefield focused on combining all-out warfare with all-out speed. This is how you introduce yourself to the new flavor Visceral Games is bringing to Battlefield with Battlefield Hardline . Or you can go all-out in 64-player cops and criminals warfare in the oldie but goodie, Conquest.

While it’s just a taste of the whole game, we want you to come in, take your jacket off, stay awhile. There won’t be a cap on the max progression level so whether you’re busting criminals or fleeing the cops, unlock away. The beta is your shot to test the different classes, toy with different gadgets, and find your crew to take down your foes.

To be frank, we want you to play this beta to death. We need you to. This test is only going to make the game stronger, and help us take a look at ways we can ensure we deliver the most stable launch you deserve.” Reads the statement.

Personally, I think a game like Battlefield Hardline (and more specifically its Beta) is coming along at just the right moment. The FPS genre has fallen into a wash, rinse, repeat cycle as of late, where it’s been churning out the same-old, same-old style of shooter. Hardline ’s timing couldn’t be better, as its proposed Cops and Robbers mode looks like ALL KINDS of fun! I mean, who hasn’t played cops and robbers in their younger days right? The only difference now is we get to romp around with 63 other big kids just like us! Take Hotwire for example, which is confirmed for the upcoming sample. Instead of just dumping people into an online lobby and forcing them to run n’ gun for 20 minutes; players will square off in more objective-based missions. The cop’s jobs is to hunt down the desperate outlaws across the sizable maps Battlefield is known for and…well…I’ll let you guess what the robber’s goals are. Needless to say, it’s not to share coffee and doughnuts with them that’s for sure!

This also presents a wonderful opportunity to thank both EA and Visceral Games for delaying things such as they have. Although feeling fortunate we’ve been prevented from playing a game as soon as we’d like might seem strange, allow me to explain. Our community has witnessed the abysmal results of titles being pushed out before they’re ready far too often. I for one am grateful Hardline is taking its time to ensure things are done right, as it looks as though the extra development period will likely pay off big for Battlefield’s fun little side-adventure.

CheatCC will keep you posted once a firm release date for the upcoming multiplatform Beta has been revealed. Stay tuned!
