Xenoblade Chronicles Finally Getting the Audience it Deserves

Xenoblade Chronicles Finally Getting the Audience it Deserves

Xenoblade Chronicles is a good game. This is an accepted fact. People who were lucky enough to get a copy from GameStop have firsthand proof. Those who weren’t so lucky, or perhaps even skipped the Wii last console generation, even agree that it is the kind of title that defines a system. It is one of those rare games that someone may actually grab a console for. Now, in 2015, it is finally going to get its due.

That isn’t to say Xenoblade Chronicles wasn’t appreciated when it was released on the Wii. It was. The problem is, the supply wasn’t there to keep up with the demand. As a GameStop exclusive, only the fastest managed to snap up this gem. It’s only now, in 2015, that this title is going to ascend to the place in gaming history that it truly deserves.

I’d like to say it’s all because of the New 3DS port, but that’s only partially true. It is important, because it means Xenoblade Chronicles is going to be widely available for the first time. The Wii version was a GameStop exclusive, but we’re living in the digital age now. Every recent, first party game has found its way to the eShop. Anyone who wants it is going to have unprecedented access to it, come April 2015. No shortages or fears of marked up prices, just guaranteed access to one of the best Nintendo RPGs you can get.

Just as important is Xenoblade Chronicles X . It’s a Wii U exclusive, but one that’s getting anyone interested in the console hyped up. The appearance is getting people interested in not only the console, but Xenoblade Chronicles as a whole. It’s undoubtedly going to help the 3DS port of Xenoblade Chronicles ‘ popularity. People are going to be drawn in by something new and pretty, and want to pick up the previous game so they can learn more about this world.

Xenoblade Chronicles Finally Getting the Audience it Deserves

I honestly would not be surprised to see Xenoblade Chronicles become a system seller now. There’s too much buzz surrounding the series. Not to mention, people who do upgrade to a New 3DS are going to want a game that showcases what this variation can do. Picking up the very first, New 3DS exclusive game will give them that opportunity.

Really though, this whole piece is an excuse for me to share my excitement about Xenoblade Chronicles . This was my favorite Wii game. I wanted so many of my friends to experience, but they couldn’t due to its exclusivity and supply issues. With the New 3DS and Xenoblade Chronicles X , it feels like I’m finally going to get to see the people I love getting excited about one of the best Nintendo games I’ve ever played, and I had to share my happiness about it.
