Queequeg is the best agent in Code Name: S.T.E.A.M . I know, you probably can’t judge this for yourself yet. I understand. Really, I do. But you’ll have to take my word for it, until you get to use him yourself on either Friday or Saturday. Queequeg is going to absolutely make your day.
Code Name: S.T.E.A.M ‘.’s Queequeg is of course inspired by the South Sea chieftain’s son from Moby Dick . Like his namesake, he’s a harpoon-wielding sailor. However, only one of his attacks, “Harpoon,” taps into the source material. It’s his special attack, which can be used once per map. Pull the cord to see Queequeg heft up a harpoon. A white whale swims in the background as he launches it at an enemy for tremendous damage. It’s got great range and is one of my favorites out of all the unique abilities in the game.
It also compliments his standard weapon quite well. See, Queequeg uses a Penguin Lobber. It doesn’t work exactly the way it sounds. Remember when Danny DeVito was Penguin in Batman Returns ? Well, Queequeg’s weapon could have come right out of it. It uses four steam for each attack and sends out a robotic penguin bomb. The penguin waddles in a straight line until it hits something. When that happens, boom! Huge damage to everything. There’s even a chance it can take down a wall or barracade to a new area.
Plus, I can’t stress the penguin element of it enough. Part of the joy of Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is savoring the silliness. Queequeg delivers with those penguins. Seeing them waddle down the field is one of my favorite things, because they’re so silly, cute, and devastating. Yes, John Henry may have a Bear Grenade and Tom Sawyer a Punch Gun, but the Penguin Lobber is far more visually appealing.
He’s also a fantastic character for strategic purposes. Queequeg is one of the strongest units you can acquire early in Code Name: STEAM . His ability is fantastic for getting the most out of an area and attacking enemies from a distance. Couple that with a subweapon with an Overwatch attack and you’re set. Personally, I prefer to give him the Medi-Carbine and stick him in the back. Let him take out an enemy’s cover, then heal his allies on the front line.
Queequeg is one of Code Name: S.T.E.A.M .’s bests. He’s so useful as a heavy hitter, and his diverse attacks mean he could be a valuable character to keep on the back lines. Let him stay out of danger, sending penguins out to do dirty work for him. You won’t regret it!
