Latest Specs and Reception for the Kingston HyperX Cloud II

If you are looking for a new gaming headset, consider the Kingston HyperX Cloud II. This headset has had several solid releases so far, and it’s looking to be the go to headset for gaming in the next era of consoles and PCs.

The official website of the HyperX Cloud II lists its features as such:

HyperX® Cloud II features a newly designed USB sound card audio control box that amplifies audio and voice for an optimal Hi-Fi gaming experience, so you can hear what you’ve been missing. Open up a world of detail other gamers will never know – the rustle of a camper’s boot, the scuttle in a distant vent. Its independent audio and microphone volume control lets you adjust not only sound volume but also mic volume and easily toggle Surround Sound 7.1 or the mic sound on and off. This next-generation headset generates virtual 7.1 surround sound with distance and depth to enhance your gaming, movie or music experience. Pinpoint your opponents’ location in the game and strike before he sees you coming.

Features

  • Advanced USB audio control box with built-in DSP sound card
  • Hi-Fi capable with 53mm drivers for supreme audio quality
  • Hardware-driven virtual 7.1 surround sound
  • Comfortable, 100% memory foam on headband and leatherette cushions
  • Pro-Gaming optimized with closed cup design for passive noise cancellation
  • Compatible – USB connectivity for PC & Mac. Stereo compatible with PS4, Xbox One1 and mobile

PC Mag gave the headset a 4 out of 5, saying that the headset sports an attractive, understated design, solid build quality, and the ability to work with most modern PCs, mobile devices, and game system. However, it takes points off for errors in its virtual 7.1 surround sound capabilities, and the fact that cable isn’t detachable from the headset itself. Trusted Reviews gave the headset a 9 out of 10, and praised it for its high sound quality and overall luxurious finish for an understated product. But it too took off points for an undetachable headphone cord and a flimsy carrying case.

That being said, almost every review that we have found of this headset has placed it in similar ranges, rating it almost perfect, but not quite getting to a perfect score. But perhaps the thing we like the most about this headset is that it only costs $99. That’s a pretty good price considering other headsets on the market.

You can read the full raw specs for both the headset and the microphone below.
