Fans Are Making a Spiritual Successor to P.T.

When companies won’t make the kind of game you want to play, just ask other fans to do it. This is the case with Allison Road , a brand new horror game that appears to be heavily inspired by Silent Hills and P.T.

The creators describe it as such:

You will take on the role of the unnamed protagonist who wakes up one day without any recollection of prior events.

Over the course of five nights, it is your objective to uncover the whereabouts of your family, unravel the mysteries of the house, and face off against [dark entities] that are nested deep within the house, while the clock is relentlessly ticking towards 3:00am.

What would you do if you could feel something stalking you in the dark in the safety of your own home?

If you couldn’t tell what’s real and what’s not?

So, its Silent Hills meets Five Nights at Freddy’s ? I am very OK with that.

Luckily, we don’t have to speculate about how the game will look and play. The developers were happy enough to supply everyone with a 13 minute Youtube video packed with in-game footage. They are very committed to detail, attempting to render their universe in photorealistic quality. There are also a few references to P.T. stuck in there as well.

We’re super excited to show you some gameplay of our Allison Road prototype / pre-Alpha.

These 13 minutes have been put together by our small team of six (that’s including SFX & Music) to showcase where the development of the game is at and to give you a feel for the vibe that we’re going for.

In order to do that without spoiling any of the story we decided to separate it from the actual game, so while this is real gameplay it’s not what you’ll see in the full version of the game.

At this point pretty much all of our core mechanics are in place, however, some actually didn’t make the cut-off for the video;
The inventory is one of those things.
We’ll showcase that at some point in the future.

Everything you see here is work in progress of course; some of the assets are just stand-ins and stuff like that, however, it was important to us to show you what Allison Road looks like when played.

Now if only they could get Guillermo Del Toro on board, we would be set!

The main gameplay seems to revolve around exploration and puzzle solving. Like P.T. , you wander around a house that slowly starts getting creepier and creepier as time passes. You and pick up objects in the environment, put them in your inventory, and we assume you can use them at later points in order to somehow push forward. Unfortunately, all your collecting of nicknacks is frequently interrupted by creepy sounds, sights, and full on attacks from a demon girl, although from what we can tell she doesn’t grab your head and snarl at you with vomit-face like the girl from P.T. did.

We have to say, this is looking pretty awesome. I can’t wait for it to come out.

Alison Road is in development by the newly formed UK studio Lilith LTD. We will bring you more details on the project as they become available.
