Thrustmaster T.16000M Is Ready to Blast Off

Thrustmaster T.16000M Is Ready to Blast Off

There are all sorts of specialized controllers for games. PlayStation VR relies on Move controllers to make things feel more interactive. We see steering wheels with foot pedals for racing games. Let’s not even go into all the specialized keyboards and mice out in the wild. Among all of these respected, supplemental peripherals, there’s also the mighty flight stick. Thrustmaster is known for these controllers, and its T.16000M is one of the best you can get.

The Thrustmaster T.16000M is set up for every situation. It has 16 action buttons, to make sure you can perform everything you need to in the game. The stick moves along four independent axes. Plug it in and you’re ready to play, which is great if you don’t feel like configuring control schemes. Though you can if you want to, of course. It has brake and rapid fire triggers. There’s even H.E.A.R.T. Halleffect Accurate Technology that puts 3D magnetic sensors in the stick to make sure there’s no friction, tension remains stable, and the precision levels are 256 times better than existing controllers.

Here’s another important thing. The Thrustmaster T.16000M is a flight stick that’s fully ambidextrous. Whether you’re right or left-handed, it’ll work for you. Just adjust three of the removable components and flip a switch to make sure you’re using the right control scheme for your dominant hand, and you’re set. You could even have one in each hand. It’s base is also weighted, so if you are using two at once, you don’t have to worry about unexpected instability ruining your game.

Now, the T.16000M can come bundled with Elite Dangerous Arena , which is great. But, let’s think beyond that game. You don’t want to invest in such a controller without knowing you’ll have games to actually use with it, right? Fortunately, there are plenty of PlayStation 4 and PC games released just this year that would make the most of this peripheral.

Think about what you can do with the Thrustmaster T.16000M and some recent PlayStation 4 and PC releases. Now, I don’t know if you’ve been keeping up with the latest happenings this month, but there are these little games called Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 that launched. The former is known for giving us an opportunity to take to the sky in authentic World War I planes and zeppelins. If you’re going to be soaring through the skies like that, don’t you think you’d feel more comfortable if you were using a Thrustmaster that mimicked actual plane controls?

And we don’t know what’s going on when you’re inside one of Titanfall 2’ s Titans. It’s not like it’s going to have a steering wheel. It isn’t as though it’s a suit of armor, There’ve got to be all sorts of levers to move things and send that mech into action. A Thrustmaster T.16000M flight stick would put all kinds of control in your hands, letting you focus on the task at hand.

But it isn’t just current games that would make good use of a Thrustmaster T.16000M. I know No Man’s Sky has fallen out of favor over the last few months, but think about it. It is a game where part of the whole experience is piloting a spaceship across the universe to boldly go where… honestly, not many people have gone before due to the game not being as hot as Hello Games thought. A Thrustmaster would be the perfect controller for such an adventure.

Plus, we have Ace Combat 7 on the way. PlayStation 4 owners are going to become fighter pilots again. They’ll be able to soar through the skies, either offline in the campaign or online in multiplayer battles. Wouldn’t a Thrustmaster T.16000M, something specifically designed for flight sims, give you an edge when heading into Ace Combat dogfights online? If there’s some way to get it working with the PlayStation VR, which Ace Combat 7 will support? You could experience the most authentic experience in your own home.

Flight sticks aren’t always the most glamorous of controllers. They don’t get the same attention as, say, an elite version of a standard gamepad. Which is understandable, because you need to put more thought into it. At $55, the Thrustmaster T.16000M is an affordable controller you could go ahead and impulse buy for a few games you know it’d work well with, like Battlefield 1 or No Man’s Sky , then experiment more with once you get it home. Maybe you’d end up using it with the Atari Flashback Classics to play something like Asteroids . Maybe it’ll be your new means of playing a shoot ’em up like Deathsmiles . Perhaps it’ll even be your go-to for the most precise Pac-Man Championship Edition runs. It’s a great piece of equipment that gives you multiple options.
