Would You Play GTA on the Nintendo Switch?

Would You Play GTA on the Nintendo Switch?

Everybody wants every game on the Switch. We want to see what this console is capable of! We want to make sure it is not like the Wii U, with a stunted and small library. We want it to thrive. And part of that means getting as many games as possible, even if they are older titles. Which is why some vocal fans are calling for Grand Theft Auto V to appear on the system.

Which only makes sense. Grand Theft Auto V is an absolutely incredible game. It is this phenomenal open world title with three unique protagonists. While it never received story DLC, the campaign in there is mammoth. It is no wonder people would want something huge and good on their systems. After all, Nintendo is more open to mature games than ever before, and there are a number of open world titles on the Switch already. One can only thing this is a good thing people might want and need!

One thing to consider is that Rockstar is trying to support the Switch. A lot of companies are still on the fence about it, but not this one! It jumped right in with a port of L.A. Noire. Not only that, but the version of L.A. Noire on the Switch has custom controls and elements that make it stand out. It’s something pretty special. Knowing the company has made the effort before and gone above and beyond when it does is encouraging for a possible Grand Theft Auto V future.

It would be a wonderful way to show off the Switch’s technical prowess. Grand Theft Auto V is an intensive game. If Rockstar could get it running on the Switch, it would certainly allay concerns people may have about the strength of the system. Sure, it would probably need to take a hit in some areas, just as Skyrim and DOOM did. But if it would be possible to get this large, open world game running on the Switch, it would be something people could really point to as a major success story!

There is also the nature of Grand Theft Auto V to consider. The Switch is proving itself to be quite the welcoming platform for open world games. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Skyrim, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are all huge hits on the system. Getting to go anywhere we want in the real world and play anywhere we want in the virtual world is a big deal. Considering the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 could handle this beast of a game, it would only be fair if the Switch could as well. This would round things out, giving us a more modern world to go along with the fantasy ones already present.

Grand Theft Auto V is an amazing game. It does not get old. People keep coming back to it, just as they keep returning to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Skyrim . We know Rockstar is not opposed to making games work on the Switch. We have Bethesda do amazing things and get DOOM and Skyrim running on the system. Why shouldn’t Grand Theft Auto V find a home here too? It seems only right for it to help expand our worlds in a whole new way!
